New Publication that Thematises the Preparation of Contemporary Architectural Exhibition on the Case of Architect Plečnik
A new publication, An Architectural Exhibition – Case Plečnik, has been released.
Three years ago, during the planning for the central exhibition at the 150th anniversary of Plečnik’s birth – 'Plečnik: The Metropolis, Place, Garden' at the City Museum of Ljubljana – the exhibition’s author, Nika Grabar, PhD and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana, encountered two primary questions: what is the relevance of Plečnik's architectural works today, and how should his architectural objects be presented.

She attempted to find the answers to these questions by conducting two interviews with internationally renowned architectural theoreticians, Mary McLeod and Ana Miljački. Both of these interviews have now been published in the book An Architectural Exhibition – Case Plečnik, co-published by the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana and the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana, with the support of the Museum of Architecture and Design Slovenia.
The author focuses her attention on the topics of architectural exhibitions and postmodernism. However, the book as a whole also implicitly addresses the history of strategies in the fields of critique and curatorship as crucial forces in the architectural culture of the world of today.
The new publication is available at the Plečnik House shop.
